Mt Lemmon – As Bitter As…

Mt Lemmon Mountain Climb By Bike.

This ride was one of the hardest rides I’ve ever done. About three hours of riding at an average speed of 19mph – comprised of around 8mph going up 30 miles to the summit and up to 46mph coming down… That’s right, 30 miles biking uphill. For the girl who used to whinge about biking up the small hill out of her village I’d say I’ve come a long way.

Tucson Arizona is everything I hoped it would be. The weather on this December day was a bright blue skied 26c with no humidity. The scenery of mountains and desert full of cacti was hard to take in because of it’s immenseness across the landscape – simply stunning.

While family and friends are sat at home in the UK right now under inches of snow and sub zero temps I’m sat here in the hotel with a lycra biker sunburn, a chainring tattoo on my leg and a feeling of accomplishment bigger than any mountain.

Hi Ren, at this rate you’ll be teaching the spin class when you get back home! Unfortunately I can’t even go for a run at the moment, because the paths are too slippery!
